Why Firebase is required
Android push notifications use Firebase Cloud Messaging. The app needs a valid Firebase project and Android configuration that matches its package.
What the guided setup helps with
The Web2Application setup flow reduces repetitive steps by checking the app, guiding Google authorization, preparing the Firebase connection, and saving the configuration needed for the Android build.
What you may still need to approve
Google can require sign-in, permission approval, project selection, or security confirmation. Hosting and account policies can also prevent a completely automatic flow. Follow the message shown in the dashboard rather than creating duplicate Firebase projects.
Recommended setup order
- Finish the app name and Android package details.
- Open the Firebase setup from the app checklist.
- Authorize the requested Google access and wait for confirmation.
- Generate a new test APK after the configuration is ready.
- Install the APK, allow notifications, and send a small test push.
Troubleshooting
If the setup is not confirmed, refresh the status before starting again. Verify that you are using the intended Google account and that notification permission is enabled on the Android device. Include the app number and a screenshot when contacting support.
